In Silicon Valley this weekend is an auction of more than 100 historic military vehicles. The Littlefield collection was created by a descendent of the giant Utah construction company, which was purchased for a couple of billion dollars by General Electric in 1976.
I have no fondness or fascination about wars and the military. But I did find these vehicles quite interesting because of the technology behind them. Unlike Teslas or other commercial vehicles, the technology and machinery is very evident. One of the most interesting vehicles was one that had a mobile bridge on top of it. Where necessary, the bridge could be unfurled allowing other vehicles to cross over water.
I have added some photos and descriptions below of some of the things that caught my attention.
