Carbon Neutral Via PG&E?

PG&E has a new program called ClimateSmart for its customers in order to offset a home’s carbon footprint.  Although I believe becoming carbon neutral is a good idea in general, I would not select PG&E for this effort.

Their program is tax deductible and based upon your home’s energy use per month.  $0.00254 per kilowatt-hour for electricity and $0.06528 per therm for natural gas.  I like the automatic feature but in the past I had recommended ClimateCare in this post.

The best solution is to use less energy and eat less meat.
